Urban Seeds
In collaboration with 3 of my peers at Texas A&M University, 2023
Urban Seeds is a proposed subscription-based service that provides gardening supplies, seasonally. These supplies are integrated with the Urban Seeds app, where the gardener can recreate their garden virtually, and scan their plant to get instant care, health, and harvest information. Gardeners can connect the Urban Seeds soil sensor to their app to access valuable insights, like immediate readings about the water status of their plant.
For this project, I created a cohesive brand identity, including the logo, color palette, and typography. The goal was to ensure the design worked seamlessly across merchandise, UI, packaging, and digital media.
I also programmed a soil sensor to detect when the garden needs water, and designed pop-ups to alert in the app.
Through the app, gardeners can subscribe to the Urban Seeds Quarterly Garden Box. Every 3 months, a box full of various garden supplies and seeds for the upcoming season will be delivered right to your door!
Along with the box, in-app seasonal merch drops and frequent posts on social media to promote help cultivate an interactive online community.
PRODUCTS & MERCHANDISE
APP & ICONS
Part of the app features connectivity to a soil sensor, which would send the user one of these three alerts based on the reading. The user has the option to update their watering calendar at the time of these pop-ups to record accurate plant health.
Hand drawn icons add to the earthiness and organic nature of the brand. These are used throughout the packaging, branding, and app to add a custom home grown aesthetic, and bold colors inspired by vegetables add to the modernity of the project.
